March 21, London Jet lag and lukewarm offers. Who needs guidebooks or Google when you can swipe before you go? As a result, I spent the first few hours of my London stay in the hotel restaurant trying to figure out what, exactly, to say to people in order to get them to meet up with me right away, on a Monday night. Come across too cheesy and nobody answers. And then I got a message from Adam. I told him the Ace Hotel Shoreditch, and he gave me a list of bars to visit and walks to take in the neighborhood. He offered to escort me on any of these excursions. He was free that very night, right after work. Do you still want to meet? Every time she went, she was so busy with market appointments that she rarely left her hotel room and never got to see the city.
London Neighborhood Walk: East End
Since moving to London I’ve learned a few home truths; squirrels may seem cute and fluffy, but they’re actually well-trained food-stealing thugs who won’t hesitate to mug you for a Tracker Bar; the cost of a round of drinks for you and your mates in Shoreditch would fund an entire night out and the taxi home in most other towns and; the guy on the overcrowded tube train with two empty seats either side of him is sat by himself for a reason.
That said, if it hadn’t been for the apps featured in today’s article, I would probably have learnt far more ‘London life lessons’ the hard way and had a lot less fun. I never realised how much I actually relied on my phone to help me muddle through my new life in London until, in true London style, it was stolen.

I was sneaking out of my job as a teaching assistant to go and have panic attacks in the girls loos and realised when I found myself unable to breathe and rooted to the spot with crippling fear in the middle of Sainsburys that it was probably time to get some help. People always ask what it is that I worry about. There are small, specific things that make me more anxious than I should be speaking on the phone is one of mine for example I bloody hate it!
I think of it like walking round with a horrible little goblin on your shoulder telling you over and over again that something bad is going to happen and whispering negative comments and criticism to everything you do, say and feel. The panic of all that suddenly seemed to crash last year and instead of constantly worrying about it, I began to feel just so sad about it that I lost all motivation to even be arsed to worry about it.
It seemed too big to even think about and try to untangle into manageable amounts, so I just gave up. I felt so sad and listless all the time and had no idea how to help myself out. But you know what? Real bravery comes from swallowing your stubborn mule pride and admitting that you could do with a bit of help.

I live in a lovely street of Victorian terrace houses in Stoke Newington very like some of the beautiful old houses in Haggerson which were torn down. Such a wasted opportunity. Shame on the Geffrye Museum. Chipperfield is a great architect and the possible juxtaposition of new and old would look great — whilst providing a brilliant case study for the museum.
Louise Houston permalink February 23, I used to live off Whiston Road in Haggerston — and it was living here that started my love for shoreditch, Spitalfields and the East End. Itis painful to read of the wholesale demolition of these wonderful terraces. Corporate vandalism in the extreme.

Tweet on Twitter Image: The little I had heard of the condition was from googling symptoms when my cycle radically changed, before stopping altogether. Nor did I know it was the effects of the hormones on the ovaries, not the ovaries themselves as the name may suggest , that was producing my painful, confidence-slashing and erratic symptoms. I would first try to reverse my PCOS, naturally.
I was experiencing symptoms common to many women: While the combination of symptoms indicated PCOS, a diagnosis was confirmed by ultrasound results showing the presence of numerous cysts on both my ovaries and hormonal imbalances noted in blood tests. Taking these issues into account and considering I already had a very fit and healthy lifestyle, I followed the resounding sense of intuition telling me it was possible to address this holistically, which led me on the pathway to reversing PCOS naturally.
In particular, shifting my mindset from eating to fuel my activity to utilising food to nourish my body. So, under the guidance of a trained professional, I honed in on monitoring, then eliminating foods that sparked intolerance symptoms—such as common triggers of onions and garlic—and began following a low-FODMAP diet. This initiated the healing of my gut and ensured optimal function so that I could absorb all the goodness I was already fuelling my body with.
A self-professed caffeine addict, I began slowly reducing my x daily coffee habit —which was short-circuiting my already temperamental hormones—to reduce the digestive stimulation and allow my body to regulate its own cortisol levels, without relying on the fake energy boost of a flat white. Next up was tackling blood sugar levels. To control insulin resistance, it was important to regulate the level of carbohydrates in my diet.
